FERRUM, Va. -- Anna Porch scored the game-winning goal 2:40 into the first overtime period to lift the Covenant women's soccer team to a 2-1 win at USA South foe Ferrum on Saturday afternoon.
The win caps a perfect weekend for the Lady Scots as they passed two conference road tests with a pair of victories. Covenant stands at 4-5 overall but more importantly 2-0 in USA South play. Ferrum drops to 3-4 on the year and 0-2 in conference action.
The goal for Porch was the first of her collegiate career.
Ferrum scored first in the 30th minute with a score from Annabelle Pavarnik. But Covenant found the equalizer late in the second half. Bethany Logan notched her second goal in as many days in the 77th minute off another assist from Terry. The goal for Logan was her third of the year.
Terry produced three assists in the two matches over the weekend for Covenant. Keeper Lucy Johnson made six saves to pick up the decision.
Covenant will be back in action on Friday at Scotland Yard against USA South member Mary Baldwin. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
