CARY, N.C. -- Anna Porch scored twice and the Covenant women's soccer team picked up its fifth straight victory and shutout with a 3-0 win at William Peace on Saturday at WakeMed Soccer Park.

Covenant goes to 10-4 overall and 8-3 inside the USA South, while William Peace drops to 6-10-2 and 4-7 in league play.

The Lady Scots have been stellar on the defensive end over the last two weeks and that continued on Saturday. Covenant recorded its fifth consecutive shutout and has not surrendered a goal since Oct. 9, a span of just over 492 game minutes. 

Porch made sure the defensive effort resulted in a victory with her first two-goal effort of the year. The junior headed in a pair of corner kicks, just five minutes apart, to give Covenant a lead it would not relinquish. Porch's first score came in the 57th minute off a Allie Vannoy corner and the second came in the 62nd minute on a Hannah King corner. Porch has four goals on the year.

In between those two scores, Rachel Bernard found the back of the net in the 59th minute as she took over possession in the box and got her shot past Pacers keeper Shannen Maddex for her first goal of the year.

Rachel Lemay and Jordan Brett combined for the shutout at the net. Lemay made one save. Covenant held a 20-2 shot advantage, with a 14-1 edge in shots on goal. Porch and Vannoy each took four shots for Covenant.

UP NEXT

Covenant will host Maryville on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Scotland Yard in the regular season finale. Senior Night activities will take place before the match.
