MARYVILLE, Tenn. - After just finding out it cracked into the AVCA National Poll for the first time in school history, No. 25 Covenant took on Maryville on the road. The Scots didn't let the ranking distract them as they defeated their CCS rival in straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Maryville came out firing in the first set, winning the first five points, with four kills coming from the same player.
- Covenant got its act together winning nine consecutive points on Emma Kalbfleish's service rotation to make it 9-5.
- Back-to-back kills from Kalbfleisch saw Covenant take a double-digit lead at 19-9.
- A kill from Rachel Bartlett and an attack error by Maryville ended set one at 25-14.
- In set two Covenant jumped out to an 8-6 lead after a kill from Cali Sandhoff.
- Kyla Bailey and Kalbfleisch each had kills on consecutive points to give Covenant a 15-12 advantage.
- Maryville continued to stay within striking distance as the set moved to 21-18 in Covenant's favor.
- A 3-0 run capped off by a service ace from Sarah Jennings ended set two 25-18.
- Covenant had to work from behind in set three as Maryville raced to a 8-4 lead.
- A 6-0 run with Sandhoff serving put Covenant ahead 12-10.
- Five consecutive points from Covenant put it on the brink of a sweep at 22-15.
- Two kills from Kalbfleisch and a kill from Kelsey Carman ended the set at 25-18 and the match.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 15-31 all-time against Maryville.
- Hannah Haerer led the Scots with 14 kills while Kalbfleisch had 13.
- Bartlett nearly had another double-double with 40 assists and nine digs.
- Jennings had 19 digs and three service aces which was a team-high in both categories.
- Covenant is riding a 20-game winning streak.
