LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant started its quest for a three-peat as CCS Tournament Champions on Tuesday night with a Quarterfinals matchup against No. 6 seed Piedmont. The Scots dominated the first two sets before battling back in the third set to earn the 3-0 sweep and keep their season alive.Â

FIRST SET
- Kills from Cali Sandhoff and Hannah Mathis sparked Covenant to score the first four points of the night.
- Consecutive attack errors from the Lions put the lead in double-digits at 17-7.
- Piedmont went on a quick 4-0 run after Covenant earned its 24th point, but a kill by Delaney Stirm closed the deal at 25-18.Â
SECOND SET
- Cali Sandhoff recorded three service aces in her first service rotation of the set as Covenant led 6-2.
- After the Lions came back to briefly take the lead, Covenant went on an 8-1 run to go up 17-11.
- Piedmont wouldn't get any closer than five points as a kill from Kelsey Carman ended the set at 25-16.
THIRD SET
- With Covenant leading by two points, Piedmont went on a 7-0 scoring run to go up 12-8.
- The Lions would eventually go up by seven points at 19-12 after three straight attack errors by Covenant.Â
- With the score at 20-14, Covenant rode a 7-0 run with three kills from Mathis to take back the lead.
- Kills from Mathis and Carman put Covenant at match point before an attack error by Piedmont ended the set at 25-22 and the match.Â
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 28-10 all-time against Piedmont.
- Carman recorded her 1000th career dig in the beginning of the third set. For the night she had a career-high 20 digs and eight kills.
- Mathis had another solid game with 13 kills, five digs, and four total blocks.Â
- Posting another double-double was Sandhoff with 20 assists and 14 digs.Â
UP NEXT: Covenant takes on No. 2 seeded Maryville on Friday at Asbury at 3:30 p.m. in the Semifinals.Â
