LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant men's tennis team rode a doubles sweep into singles play and rolled past Berry, 8-1, on Thursday evening at the Covenant Tennis Complex.

Covenant (7-4) has won two straight matches and earned a win over Berry (2-7) for the first time since 2018.

The Scots took command of the match with a sweep in doubles play. Austin Dreslinski and Solomon Crouch took an 8-3 win at the top flight over Berry's Noah Koch and Bohdan Higley.

The other two flights were tightly-contested, but the Scots were able to get the two points and take a 3-0 match lead. Ethan Gibson and Gill Dunn were 8-5 winners at the No. 2 position over Kyle Lutian and Connor Murphy, while Ben Luke and Camden Lashley were 8-6 victors over Fant Smith and Carsten Balao at No. 3.

In singles play, Gibson clinched the match at the No. 3 flight with a 6-3, 7-6(2) victory over Lutian. That victory gave the Scots a 5-1 lead in the match.

Dunn earned his seventh straight singles win as he downed the visiting Vikings' Murphy 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5. At the No. 2 position, Dreslinski took a 6-4, 6-1 win over Elijah Gabriel. Dreslinski and Dunn are tied for the team-lead with seven singles victories on the year.
