DANVILLE, Ky. -- Covenant track and field stamped the record books six times during their final indoor meet of the season at the Centre Indoor Invite and Multis on Friday and Saturday.
On the women's side, freshman
Lucie Demers ran a 2:22.24 to set the 800m program record, while
Evangelia Berry added a 10:42.99 in the 3000m, almost 15 seconds faster than the previous best. Finally, the tandem of
Sarah Vannoy,
Sophia Velleco, Demers and Berry combined for a record 12:48.13 in the distance medley relay.
On the men's side,
Chandler Lines set his second indoor program record of the season with his 4:30.53 in the mile, while
Ethan Saiki got in the mix with his 8:53.03 in the 3000m. On top of that, the team of Saiki,
Connor Moffat, Lines, and
Alex Burns combined for a 11:01.21 in the distance medley relay to set a record there.
There were also several personal bests recorded throughout the meet.
Jaiden Henderson (30.40) established a personal best in the 200m, while
Sophia Velleco ran a personal best 1:04.24 in the 400m and
Elie Berndt added one of her own in the long jump (4.51m - 14' 9.75") for the women.
For the men,
Jack Miller (4:44.26) and
Jack Woodham (5:16.06) recorded bests in the mile, while
Jack Dupree added one in the 3000m with his 9:35.35.
Among other notable results, Vannoy set an impressive initial benchmark in the mile, coming in fifth overall with her 5:25.84, while
Grayson Lines added a new benchmark of his own with his 2:19.12 in the 800m.
