ORLANDO, Fla. -- Covenant women's tennis dropped their match against Calvin on Monday, 7-0, on day two of their Spring Break trip in Orlando.
Maisie Tanchanpongs and
Estee Verdery secured the lone win for the Scots at No. 1 doubles, beating Morey and Ribiero of Calvin, 7-5.Â
However, the Knights' Hooker and Holman beat
Katie Cummings and
Christina English, 7-5 at No. 2 and Grissom and Ornellas defeated
Landry McKinney and
Ora Hall 6-2 to clinch the doubles point.
In singles, Morey upended Tanchanpongs 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 1 slot, and Holman followed by upending Verdery 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2. At the No. 3 singles slot, Ornellas outlasted McKinney 6-1, 6-0, and Cummings fell to Hooker 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4.Â
English lost to Lopez 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 and Hall fell to Norman 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 to close the match.
UP NEXT
The Scots play two matches, the first of which comes against Anderson (Ind.) at 7:30 a.m., and the second against Northwestern (St. Paul) at 6:30 p.m.
