ATLANTA, Ga. -- Covenant baseball sophomore infielder
Roby McClarnon was named the CCS Player of the Week, announced the conference on Monday.
McClarnon earned the award after batting .533 (8-for-15) over the weekend, helping the Scots take three of four from visiting Wheaton between Friday and Saturday.
More specifically, McClarnon hit an inside the park home run, three triples, while driving in eight runs, scoring five times and swiping five bases. He also made his presence felt defensively at shortstop, highlighted by a game-saving, inning-ending throw from left field to cut down a runner at third base.
On the season, McClarnon is leading the Scots in batting average (.464), and OPS (1.393), with a homer, four triples, a double, and seven stolen bases in seven tries.
McClarnon and the Scots will play again on Friday at the Covenant Baseball Field against Emory at 2 p.m.
